Final Appeal: Pilgrim’s Second Annual Blood Drive for Children’s National Hospital

On Saturday, February 7, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Pilgrim Baptist Church will host our Second Annual Blood Drive at 700 I (Eye) Street NE, Washington, DC. This year, every donation will directly support young patients at Children’s National Hospital, where children and families depend on life-saving blood treatments every single day.

We take great pride in this event since Pilgrim is honored to be one of the only African American churches in the District hosting a blood drive, and only one in the District that holds one for Children's National Hospital; but we are in danger of following short of the number of donors needed to carry out this endeavor.

More than an event, this is an act of love, solidarity, and hope for children facing serious illness, surgery, and long roads to healing. A single blood donation can help multiple pediatric patients. For a child in need, your generosity becomes strength, recovery, and sometimes a second chance. If you are 18–60 years of age and in good health, we invite you to prayerfully consider being a blessing to a child and family you may never meet, but whose life you will forever touch.

Appointments take less than an hour. The process includes registration, a brief medical screening, the donation itself, and refreshments. 

Even if you are unable to donate, you can still be part of this effort by sharing this opportunity with friends, family, neighbors, or coworkers who may be willing to give.
