Scripture Focus: Gospel of John 21:1–14 (ESV)
There’s something about the shoreline in Gospel of John 21 that feels both quiet and seismic at the same time. Nets are empty. Night has been long. The disciples are doing what they know how to do… and still coming up short. And then—almost unnoticed at first—Jesus is already there.
This quiz grows out of our sermon, “Transform: He Was There All Along,” and invites you to step back into that moment. Not just to remember what happened, but to recognize what it means. Because this isn’t only a story about fishermen and a miraculous catch—it’s a story about us. About what we do after failure. About how we respond when life feels unproductive or uncertain. About the surprising ways Jesus shows up in places we thought we had to leave behind.
As you move through these questions, don’t rush it like a test you’re trying to finish. Let it feel more like standing at the water’s edge at daybreak—pausing, noticing, remembering. You may find that what seemed like a simple Bible scene begins to echo your own journey: the empty nets, the unfamiliar voice, the hesitant obedience, the sudden abundance, the invitation to come and eat.
So take your time. Reflect deeply. And as you answer each question, consider this:
Where in your life might Jesus already be present… and you just haven’t recognized Him yet?
